The church was built in 1885 with the care of Parson Mykolas Chodoravičius. This is a rectangular (52x26 m) neo-romantic basilica church with a semi-circular apse and two towers. Inside, there are three naves and three altars. The sanctum is surrounded by a brick and mesh wall. In 1887, the church got its organ and in 1898 it was consecrated by the Bishop Gasparas Girtautas. During World War One, 4 bells were taken to Russia. After the war ended, the church was restored by the Canon Vladas Butvila and Prelate Jonas Grabys saw to the acquisition of 3 bells. Monsignor Jonas Juodelis, who was the parson since 1970, built the rectory. This church is an example of how facades of church architecture are illuminated in Lithuania.
